What is CPPI?
Global Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) is an index developed and released by World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence, on annual basis. This Index evaluates port efficiency globally with special emphasis on vessel time in port (duration of port stay) and serves as benchmark for assessing container port performance and
efficiency worldwide.
CPPI considers certain parameters in arriving at ranking system which includes moves per crane per hour, shorter turnaround times, and
lesser time spent idle at the berth are some of the most important performance
measures.
